By What Authority, Part 6

We, especially in the United States, have a hard time with the concept of the unbreakable, sovereign authority of a Lord over us, yet that is exactly the authority that God possesses. Some attempt to cite examples from scripture to suggest that God is lenient, that it really does not bother Him if we do not abide strictly by His will. Is that the lesson that those passages actually teach?
