… A Place to Feel Joy
The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” And, the Apostle Peter teaches us, “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory” (1 Peter 1:8).
How do we have this “all joy” and “joy that is inexpressible”? And why would you find this type of joy here at Pepper Road?
First, God has promised to provide for His children, so if we are a “child of God,” we know we are loved and provided for, so this gives us tremendous joy (Matthew 6:25, 32).
Second, we believe the statements of God that our trials and hardships strengthen our faith and increase our wisdom, and so we “count it all joy” (James 1:2-4) when we face trials and therefore “rejoice in our sufferings” (Romans 5:3-4).
Third and most importantly, God has forgiven us our sins (Romans 5:11), which allows us to be like the Ethiopian Eunuch who went on his way “rejoicing” (Acts 8:39), or the Philippian Jailer who “rejoiced, believing in God” (Acts 16:34). We rejoice because we know God has a home prepared for us in Heaven (John 14:1-3), so how could we not be happy now?
So, if you are interested in learning how to have this same type of joy, even when facing difficulties, then please talk with us. Let us share with you the remarkable power of the Gospel to transform your life and fill you with joy – a “joy that is inexpressible.”
