The authority that Jesus possesses and exercises shows that he is more than just a man who represents God; it proves that he is God. One of the clearest expression of Jesus’s divine sovereignty is revealed just before his crucifixion: “And Jesus said, ‘I am; and you shall see THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER, and COMING WITH THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN’” (Mark 14:62 NASB). The sovereignty of Jesus—that he is the Son of Man, the king in heaven, and the judge—shows that he is divine. This is the final sermon in the series, “Is Jesus God?”
