The Service of Deacons

Deacons. Who are they? What do they do? If one looks up the word “deacon,” he finds a range of meaning in modern English from “an ordained minister under a priest” to “a lay minister over secular affairs.” Yet the New Testament describes deacons and their role in far different terms. In this study, we survey what the Bible says about this important group of men in the local church. (I Timothy 3:8–13)
