For Christians, the Day of Atonement and the special year that sometimes followed, Jubilee, are not just a Jewish tradition. They are shadows (types) of New Testament realities, namely, the forgiveness and freedom that we enjoy in Christ. In this study, we trace the themes of atonement and liberty through the Bible and highlight the implications for everyday Christian faith and conduct.
