Assyria's army was threatening to attack Jerusalem. King Sennacherib's emissary told the people of Jerusalem not to put their trust in their king or their God. No other nation's gods had delivered them from the Assyrians, he said, and Jerusalem would be no different. But Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem went on to show us where the faithful ought to put their trust.
