A Prayer in Hopelessness

The apostle Simon Peter wrote that we should cast all our care upon God because He cares for us (I Peter 5:7). Psalm 88 is just such a petition, but unlike other plaintiff cries in the Psalms, there is no glimmer of hope in Heman's (the writer's) contemplation.
