When we see in the Bible the phrase “in God’s presence” or “in God’s sight,” what does it mean? It turns out, as with most words and phrases, it can have a range of meanings, and the immediate context determines which meaning applies. Nevertheless we can observe one thing about the phrase and its context any time we find it in Scripture: We need to pay close attention because whatever follows is important.
