Resist the Devil

Peter tells us, “the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (I Peter 5:8). He continues, commanding us to resist him! James issues a similar command, promising us that if we put up a fight, the devil will flee from us (James 4:7). Resist we must, not only because we are commanded to, but because our souls are at stake. We can resist the devil, and Jesus shows us how.
