When Paul in Romans wrote of the “the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness,” what did he mean? The Calvinist and also to an alarming number of our brethren think of it as a transfer of Christ's righteousness to us, but that really is not what the word means and is at odds with the picture the Scriptures paint. The consequences of this error are not merely academic.
