The Problem with Denominationalism

In John 17, Jesus prayed that His disciples all be united—as He put it, “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me” (John 17:21 NKJV). It is, therefore, clearly not the will of Jesus that there be literally thousands of different churches all teaching and practicing various and conflicting things. What then is the remedy for all the division?
