When Will This Church Depart?

We read of several individual churches in the New Testament: the church in Jerusalem, the church in Antioch, in Ephesus, in Sardis, and so on. None of these churches exist today. All of them eventually departed. It stands to reason, then, that eventually even this church will become unfaithful. While the Bible gives us no date when that departure will happen, it does give us characteristics and warning signs of a church that either is on the road to apostasy or is already there. Armed with this knowledge, we can be watchful and stave off the threats that have been the downfall of churches throughout history.
