Compromising Our Fellowship

When we have those in our midst who cling to false doctrines or simply do not conform themselves to the teaching of Jesus and His apostles, the temptation may be to avoid rocking the boat so as not to cause division, to overlook that bad behavior in order to preserve fellowship. But when we maintain fellowship with those who do not abide by sound doctrine, how does it affect our fellowship with God?
