“Is the young man Absalom safe?” David was asking about the well-being of his son—the son who had just led a rebellion against him, his own father and king! The young man Absalom most certainly was not safe, but he had not been safe for a long time before that moment because of a series of bad decisions he had made. How can young people avoid ending up like the young man Absalom?
