How Should We Read the Psalms?

While the casual reading of any Scripture is profitable, the rich imagery in the Psalms calls for more than a scant glimpse. We miss out on the great benefit the Psalms have to offer if we do not slow down and take a little time to visualize the pictures the psalmists paint and feel the experiences they relate. The Psalms demand our whole attention—that we read not only with our minds, but also with our hearts.
